❤ Lace Hunting in Birmingham ❤

Hello Lovelies, I went to Birmingham yesterday to do some lace shopping. I haven't been to Birmingham for quite a while now, and I really needed some lace to finish a lolita alice bow I was making.
A few weeks ago, I brought these nail polish from BarryM to celebrate the finishing my projects. ❤
(Yes, I will give myself little excuses to go shopping)

The colours are super pretty and pastel ❤ , they also dried so much quicker then I expected, I used the silky pink and mint as the base and then used a lilac polish also from BarryM for the dripping syrup. At first I thought of being adventurous and also do little sprinkles on it, but unfortunately I didn't have enough time.

Anyway, back to my trip to Birmingham, I got to Birmingham quite late as I was having lunch and was also shopping around Bullring. I finally went to the Rag Market to find some of the lace after walking around Bullring, The Rag market is such a nice place to get some lace, although there are lace that are really bad quality so you have to be really careful, there are also a lot of materials that could be used for lolita like ribbon.

The next bit I went to was a little shop not too far from the market called Fancy Silk Store, they have lots of fabrics and materials that are perfect for lolita. But since I still have lots of fabric that I haven't used over the years, I didn't get any fabric. But it is still a really good place to take a look at all of the fabric, the thing I love about them is that they have a little basket at the back of the store that have lots of fabric samples that students can take. For poor students like me, 5 samples is all I need and happy accept for free!

Even though it doesn't look big from the outside ,there are actually 3 floors full of fabrics~ Just look at all of the fabrics❤

After shopping for all the lace I wanted, I went back to Bullring and shop a little more before heading back to the China Town to get some cute snacks and Pockys.

Bags of laces I brought from the Rag Market~ ❤

These two are my favourite lace I found from the Rag Market, they are 1 for 3 metres, the swan lace is perfect for a swan printed fabric~❤

I also found this amazing fabric in the Rag Market and although I still have lots of fabric at home, I just couldn't resist this holographic foil. I have so much things I want to make with it, a skater skirt, bows or even a dress? ❤ I am so happy that I found it, I've always wanted some holographic garments~

And here are some of the snacks I brought from China Town~
Banana Flavoured Pockys... Milk Flavoured Pockys... Almond Pockys....❤
And that is the end of my trip to Birmingham~

I've also finished the lolita bow I was making, would anyone like a tutorial on how to make a lolita alice bow?
Comment below if you would like it, I am more then happy to do a tutorial for it!

❤ Modelling for a friend - Why does he love someone else.... ❤

"Why does he love someone else,
Why does he look straight into my eyes,
Why does he look at me but not talk"

That was the poem my friend chose for one of her projects, she was going to make a little diary of the all the scenes from the poem.
She asked me to be the model and to be part of her project wearing lolita~ I have never took a proper lolita photoshoot outdoor before and this time I had to be sad and heartbroken which is really challenging as I am always smiling and happy when I am being photographed however I am really excited to be in lolita and really looked forward helping my friend out and being in the photoshoot.
We decided to do the photoshoot outdoor and when I got to our reception Yuki's friends has gathered there to help out with the photoshoot already.
So we started immediately with no time to waste since I nipped out from my lesson to do the photoshoot~
All the photos were taken by Gary Ezeugo and all the photos belong to Nakashima Ren(Yuki)...

I was really happy with how the photos turned out as I was really nervous and had no confident at all being a model and knowing that it is for someone eles's project and that they are being marked on.
And here are a few photos from behind the scene, it was really windy and luckily my petticoat was puffy enough to survive the wind... ❤

Unfortunatly, I haven't been able to work and design for Princess Lace due to personal problems. Therefore, sadly I have now closed down Princess Lace and will keep working toward my dreams in having my own brand.
Thank You for all the support❤

❤ Reimagined World - Footwear Project ❤

Hello Everyone, I am back writing my blog again as promised~
University has been really busy so far as we were given lots and lots of projects. But knowing that I always leaves everything till the last minute I was rushing and completely breaking down by the end the projects.

We were given a designer/brand and we had to work with the theme" Reimagined World" to create a sandal and a display from the designer's point of view and style. I was luckily enough to be given Jonathan Saunders as he was colourful and I loved all his patterns and work.

I was researching about him and came across this dress:
(Picture below taken from Google)

When I first saw this dress, the first thing that came into mind was that the colours looks like it is from a chameleon and I love it and decided that I will use chameleon as my inspiration. I started by looked at their skin textures and the colours. (Picture below taken from Google)

However, we had no idea what kind of colours and leather we will be working with, I was over the moon when they have green and turquoise leather available as I was hoping to use green and turquoise as my main colours.

We started by making a pattern out of the last using making tape and eventually came out with a pattern of the sandal.

After cutting my pattern out on the green leather, I started sewing my pattern pieces together. It was not as difficult as I thought it would be as we had to use a very small seam allowance.(5mm and 2mm). As soon as finished sewing the front, back and the straps at the side I attached the insole and the sole. Attaching the soles are my favourite part of making shoes as it is very fun hammering down the sole and getting glue everywhere~

To be honest, after making up my sandal. The shape was so basic and I was really disappointed how it turn out, but as soon as I got home I started working with the details on the surface. I stuck down little pieces of the leather using the right side and wrong side as they have different shade and it is perfect for he chameleon skin colour.

I was so happy with my sandal as it looked so much better with the details and the leather and colours worked really well together. After making my display from dried dead leaves, branches and a red satin flower. Everything was coming together and luckily they don't look as bad as I thought it would.

This project has been really fun but really stressful at the same time, there were times when I just wanted to rip my shoe apart and giving up on footwear... But looking back at my final outcome and the process of making it with my blood and tears (literally), I am super proud of this sandal.

Gomen-ne~❤

I am so sorry that I have completely abandoned my blog here....
And I have planned to start writing it again since I really want to record what I have been doing in university lately.

The last few months has been busy but really productive, I had a chance to learn to make gloves/ shoes/ metal jewellery and also work on our photoshop and illustrator skills~ So far my course has been great and hopefully I will start updating my blog regularly again!❤
